Wishing the happiest of birthdays to Aunt Lanie!

It was Elaine’s birthday celebration and we were all going to hit up Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Now I personally love them, Elaine’s not a huge fan outside of the Harry Potter piece, and we weren’t sure if there was going to be much for Lennon to do. There wasn’t. Height requirements didn’t even allow him on 2 of the attractions at the Dr. Seuss section! Isn’t that area supposed to be for lil dudes?!?

Regardless, Lennon stayed awake the entire day at Universal and REALLY had some fun.

There were several highlights for Lennon:

(1) One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish – We went on this ride twice, once at the beginning of the day where Lennon sat with Aunt Lanie, and once at the end where he sat with me. He enjoyed it with Aunt Lanie much more, but I think he was super tired when it was my turn. Without a doubt this was his favorite ride. Similar to Dumbo at Disney, but you get wet! And getting wet is one of Lennon’s favorite things to do.

(2) A Day at the Park with Barney Show – I honestly wasn’t expecting much at the show. I’ve, of course, seen it numerous times before, but Lennon has never seen Barney before. He was completely engaged – from the songs and dancing to the falling leaves to the dropping hearts. After the show we stood in line to meet Barney, but one of Aunt Lanie’s friends gave us a special private meet and greet. Needless to say, Lennon was super excited!

(3) Splash Zones – An obvious hit. Lennon saw water on the ground and knew that was where he wanted to be. At the start I positioned his stroller where he could see the big waves … then we moved closed. I thought I was blocked by a rock and was attempting to film Lennon getting super soaked, but we both wound up drenched. It was all worth it though because he didn’t stop smiling.

He also really enjoyed the Caro-Seuss-el and getting wet at Seuss Landing.

Seven hours and two soft pretzels with cheese later we were on our way home.
